Keith R. A. DeCandido

Keith DeCandido Rocketed to Earth as an infant to avoid the destruction of his homeplanet, Keith R.A. DeCandido was raised by a roving pack of gypsy librarians and trained in their vile and depraved ways. A career in the publishing industry was his only recourse from decades of really expensive therapy. He has written some 50 novels, as well as short fiction and comic books, some based on TV shows (Star Trek, Doctor Who, Farscape, Supernatural), movies (Cars, Serenity, Resident Evil, Kung Fu Panda), comic books (Spider-Man, X-Men, Hulk, Silver Surfer), and games (BattleTech, Dungeons & Dragons, World of Warcraft, StarCraft), others based on his own universes. In 2014, he unleashed the following bits of work on a panting reading public:Star Trek: The Klingon Art of War, a coffee-table book that guides you in your life as a warrior; the novel Mermaid Precinct, the sixth book in his series of fantasy police procedurals; the short-story collection Without a License: The Fantastic Worlds of Keith R.A. DeCandido; two urban fantasy stories set in Key West, Florida featuring Cassie Zukav, weirdness magnet, “Fish Out of Water” in Out of Tune, and “Undine the Boardwalk” in Bad-Ass Faeries: It’s Elemental; “Stone Cold Whodunit,” a Super City Police Department story, in With Great Power; an essay in New Worlds, New Civilizations: Exploring Star Trek Comics; the adventure “Merciless” for the Firefly role-playing game Echoes of War; and more besides. His twice-weekly rewatch ofStar Trek: Deep Space Nine appears on Tor.com; he completed a similar rewatch of The Next Generation for the site in 2013. When he isn’t writing, Keith is an editor for clients both corporate and personal, a second-degree black belt in Kenshikai karate, the percussionist for the parody band Boogie Knights, a proud member of both the Liars Club and the International Association of Media Tie-in Writers, a prolific podcaster (The Chronic Rift, HG World, Gypsy Cove, The Dome, Cyborgs: A Bionic Podcast, The Batcave Podcast, and his own monthly Dead Kitchen Radio), and probably some other stuff he can’t remember due to the lack of sleep. Scott Melzer

Scott Melzer Scott is the head writer and director of the anime fan parody group NoN.D.E. Fanfilms.  An anime fan since birth in 1966, Scott grew up on Speed Racer and Star Blazers, having no idea of the shows’ origins. In college he learned the truth: they were Japanese, and there were uncut versions of these shows! And there were conventions! Rabid otakunization soon followed. In 2001 he tried his hand at directing fan parodies, and the homage to fans and fandom “This Is Otakudom” was the result, followed by “S.T.E.A.M.: The Movie” in 2005 and “Fanboy Soze” in 2011.  Scott is currently developing his fourth film and spreads the joy of parodies by showing screenings of Abridged shows and Fan Parodies at cons along the east coast.
